Windows Server is a brand name for a group of server operating systems released by Microsoft. It includes all Windows operating systems that are branded “Windows Server”, but not any other Microsoft product. It is a server operating system that enables a computer to handle network roles such as domain controller, web server, print server, and file server. It is also the platform for separately acquired server applications such as Exchange Server or SQL Server.
